Fender Jaco Pastorius Relic Jazz Bass 3-Tone
Sunburst
Jaco lived hard and played hard, and his bass paid for
it. But despite consistent and brutal abuse (he was rumored to drag the
thing around with no case), his trusty Jazz Bass still delivered that
inimitable Jaco sound. Aside from a perfect new fingerboard, this is a
faithful re-creation, right down to the peeling paint and screw holes
from a previous pickup. Select alder body, special shaped maple neck,
epoxy-coated fretless rosewood fingerboard, and replacement P Bass
control knobs. Hardshell Fender case included.
Meticulously built to replicate the original '59 P
Bass in every detail. 1959 was a transitional year for the P Bass.
Rosewood fretboards replaced the one-piece maple neck for the first
time, and the neck features the precise C-shaped profile from that year.
This model also has the ash body that was used for the vintage blonde
finish models of that year. One especially showy feature in '59 was the
gold anodized pickguard and it is used on this replica. As a Time
Machine Relic, it has been specially treated to show the cosmetic
effects of wear and aging that would naturally be found on a well-used
'59 bass. Comes with a tweed hardshell case, vintage strap, and
polishing cloth.
Originally created to be a studio instrument that
could handle the Nashville tic/tac" sound, the Fender Bass VI has
built a loyal following among guitarists looking for a baritone guitar
with a look and feel similar to the popular Jaguar. Features include a
bleached 3-color Sunburst finished on an alder body, small quarter sawn
plain-grain C-shaped neck with a round laminated rosewood fingerboard,
Jaguar pickups (middle pickup is reverse wound/reverse polarity) and
vintage nickel Jazzmaster/Jaguar bridge. Includes a limited-release
embroidered case and certificate.
This Fender '59 Precision Bass model meticulously
replicates its original ancestor, and comes with an alder body.
Period-correct features include a C-shaped maple neck, vintage split
single-coil pickups and a gold anodized pickguard.
1959 was a transitional year for the Fender Precision Bass guitar; it
was the first year, for example, in which rosewood fingerboards were
offered as an alternative to the one-piece maple neck.
This bass has been given the "Relic" treatment—built to show
years of natural wear and tear; with nicks, scratches, worn finish,
rusty hardware and aged plastic parts.
Some instruments are sought after because a famous
musician played them. Others achieve notoriety based on their own
inimitable qualities the subtle combination of tone, feel, and looks
that grabs hold of a player and won't let go. The '64 Jazz Bass is
famous for both reasons. It's been seen on every size of stage in the
hands of half the world's most famous bassists. Now you don't have to
invest years searching for and a fortune buying this hoary hero.
Fender's Custom Shop has created a bass that looks precisely like the
one you'd find in the back of a hock shop in the bad part of Montgomery.
It's got the same alder body, round rosewood fingerboard, maple neck,
brown shell pickguard, and straight pickups as the original, plus all
the road rash, sweat rust, and elbow wear it would've picked up if it
had been being played hard all these years. The silky-feeling new frets
and fretboard are the only way you'll be able to tell it from the real
thing.
This stunning Fender '64 Jazz Bass replica features an
alder body with a maple neck and a round laminate rosewood fingerboard.
Other period-correct features include chrome hardware, vintage reverse
tuning machines and a four-ply tortoise-shell pickguard.
When it was introduced in 1961, the sleekly cool Jazz Bass guitar set
the music world on its ear and became another beloved Fender design
classic.
