Rihanna

| Rihanna, born February 20, 1988 in Saint Michael, Barbados.
Her real name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty. Rihanna is a pop singer with
influences from hip-hop, R & B, dance and soca. Rihanna is a multiple
Grammy Award winner. Her four published albums until 2009, have sold more
than 20 million copies and the accompanying single releases over 60
million times in her five-year career.
Rihanna joined in 2006 the Believe Foundation, a charity organization
helping children who suffer from cancer. Since 2007, she tried to find a
bone marrow donor for a five-year-old girl, named Jasmine Amena. Rihanna
often visited Jasmina in the hospital, she last visited in November 2009
at a signing session for her album "Rated R". Jasmina died on
January 27 2010.Even during her "The Good Girl Gone Bad" Tour,
Rihanna went to the charity tour of the Believe Foundation. Also during
this tour, she went to "A Girl's Night Out" Tour (2008),
promoting a tour of three appearances for the fashion house Escada to the
Moon Sparkle fragrance. The proceeds were donated to the Believe
Foundation.
On July 7 2007, Rihanna, performed on the Live Earth concerts in the
Japanese city of Chiba.
In 2008 she took part in the charity "Stand Up to Cancer"
Project, and sang with many other singers, the charity song "Just
Stand Up!".
Since 2008, Rihanna supported with the Believe Foundation and DKMS,
which could contribute significantly in 2009 to save the life of
41-year-old mother Lisa Gershowitz Flynn. Rihanna was calling to register
with DKMS, after which 5,000 new donors signed up, and 2000 potential new
donors could be found, Lisa's life was saved.
Since the death of little Jasmina, Rihanna promotes increased for DKMS
to encourage more people to be registered. After the earthquake in Haiti
in January 2010, Rihanna followed the charity "Hope for Haiti
Now" and was a accompanying fundraiser, among many other stars like Christina
Aguilera, Beyonce Knowles and Shakira, Bono, Jay-Z
and The Edge. They sang together the song "Stranded (Haiti Mon
Amour). She also sang in the Oprah Winfrey show, a cover of
"Redemption Songs" by Bob Marley. The proceeds also went to Hope
for Haiti Now.
